Activities Since its founding in 1974 AGOTA has struggled to hold Annual General Meeting every after two tears. These meetings have not being regular due to lack of funds. Other activities are: - Organization of FIGO Safe the Motherhood project and Newborn Health in Kilwa District Lindi Region in Tanzania designed to reduce maternal mortality in Kilwa.
- Organizing a Twinning program with the Netherlands Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecology (NVOG) one of its main project being partnership in the FIGO SMNH project for Kilwa District.
- Awarding the Jill Everett award to the best undergraduate student in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
- Sponsoring members to attended international conferences, seminars and workshops such as FIGO congress and EACSAOGS conferences when funds are available.
- Organization of workshop and seminars such as Safe Motherhood and Newborn Health workshops, Emergency Obstetric care workshop and repositioning family planning workshops.
- To improve and maintain proper standards in the practice of obstetrics and gynaecology for the benefit of women and the public of Tanzania.
- To produce evidence – based guidelines for appropriate practice and procedures in collaboration with MOH.
